Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of services provided by Handyside Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical (“Handyside,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By scheduling service, requesting an estimate, or engaging with our team, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
Handyside is a licensed provider of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services in Pennsylvania. Our goal is to deliver high-quality work with professionalism and integrity.
2. Estimates & Pricing

Estimates: Written estimates are based on the information available at the time and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Flat-Rate & Time/Materials: Jobs may be billed at a fixed rate or on a time-and-materials basis.

Change Orders: Hidden issues, code upgrades, or customer-requested changes may alter pricing and schedule. Approval will always be obtained before proceeding.

Promotions: Discounts and coupons cannot be combined unless specifically stated.
3. Scheduling & Access

Access: Customers agree to provide safe access to the job site. Pets should be secured, and fragile belongings moved if necessary.

Delays: Appointment dates are approximate and may shift due to part availability, weather, or emergencies.

Utilities: You authorize Handyside to temporarily shut off water, gas, or electricity when necessary to complete work.
4. Permits & Code Compliance

Handyside will obtain required permits unless your contract specifies otherwise.

Work is performed in accordance with applicable codes.

Pre-existing or hidden issues (e.g., asbestos, mold, faulty wiring) are not covered under the estimate and may require additional work.
5. Materials & Equipment

Materials and equipment provided by Handyside remain our property until payment is made in full.

If you provide your own materials, Handyside cannot guarantee their quality or performance and may charge additional labor if issues arise.
6. Payment, Deposits & Cancellations

Payment: Due upon completion unless otherwise stated in your agreement.

Deposits: Large projects may require deposits to secure scheduling and materials.

Late Payments: May incur interest or fees as permitted by Pennsylvania law.

Cancellations: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Special-order parts may be non-refundable.
7. Warranties

Workmanship Warranty: Handyside warrants its workmanship for 1 year from the date of installation, unless otherwise noted in your contract.

Manufacturer Warranties: Products may carry manufacturer warranties. Customers are responsible for required maintenance and registration to keep those warranties valid.
8. Photos & Documentation
Handyside may take photos or videos of completed work for records, training, or quality control. With your consent, non-identifiable images may be used for marketing.
9. Safety & Hazardous Materials

Our technicians follow safety standards on every job.

Discovery of asbestos, mold, or other hazardous substances may require us to stop work until remediation is completed by a certified specialist at your expense.
10. Communications (Phone, Email, Text)
By providing your contact information, you authorize Handyside to reach you by phone, email, or text for scheduling, project updates, and service communications.

Message/data rates may apply.

You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP.

Consent is not a condition of purchase.
11. SMS POLICY
“We do not share information with third parties or marketing services. By submitting, you authorize Handyside to reach out via phone, email, or text for explicit information about project needs. We will never share your personal information with 3rd parties for marketing purposes or spam you. You can opt out at any time. Message/data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
Also ensure the SMS Policy includes:
- Program Description: Brief description of the types of messages users will receive (e.g., appointment reminders, service updates).
- Frequency: “You will receive 5–10 messages per month based on your project needs.”
- Opt-out: “Reply STOP to unsubscribe. We’ll confirm via SMS, and you’ll stop receiving messages. To rejoin, sign up again.”
- Interruption: “Message delivery may be delayed or unsuccessful due to carrier issues.”
- Cost: “Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless provider for details.”
- Privacy: “For questions about privacy, see our Privacy Policy.”
12. Privacy
We respect your privacy. We never sell your information to third parties for marketing purposes. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details.
13. Liability Limits

Except as specifically provided, services are delivered “as is.”

Handyside is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages (e.g., lost profits, business interruption).

Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the service giving rise to the claim.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Cumberland County, PA.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
