  • How Does a Gas Furnace Work?

A gas furnace is a good option for heating your home in the winter. Whether you already have a gas furnace, need a repair, or are looking to install one, you may wonder how it works.

Essentially, a gas furnace works by converting gas to heat. A furnace is composed of controls, burners, a heat exchanger and a blower. When the air in your home drops below the temperature set on your thermostat, a silicone nitride igniter lights the burner, which is located in the combustion chamber in the gas furnace. Heat energy is created and forced into the heat exchanger. After that, the warm air is distributed through the ductwork and into the home. While this is happening, any excess combustion gas is released through a vent on the wall or roof.

We proudly service Etters, New Cumberland, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg and the Greater Harrisburg Area.
